2021 Officers

President - Audrey Wilbourn

Responsibilities: 

  • Preside over regular meeting and board meetings.

  • Appoint temporary task forces and committees to deal with special issues. 

  • Make appointments to fill vacancies of officers of committee chairs with assistance of President-Elect. 

  • Authorize expenses up to $250.00 (expenses over $250.00 must be approved by Executive Board). 

  • Call officers or members in-session at any time. 

  • Petition for PET Membership Agenda Items for discussion at meetings and preparing Meeting Agenda. 

  • Receive, answer, and draft any miscellaneous correspondence on behalf of the association. 

  • Create and distribute annual Goals & Accomplishments document in January. Distribute to membership and post on website. 

  • Serve as Liaison to Texas-NENA Board of Directors. 

  • Assist other officers in preparations for 9-1-1 Public Educators Meeting in conjunction with the Texas Public Safety Conference.

President-Elect - Pattie Hannon

Responsibilities: 

  • Performs all duties of the President in his/her absence. 

  • Assists President in conducting association affairs. 

  • Seek and confirms nominations for bi-annual elections and develops slate of officers/committee chairs. Members must have attended one meeting prior to nominating/accepting nomination of post. 

  • Create and mail ballots for bi-annual elections. Ballots will be distributed to the membership on August 1st of the election year and will be collected until August 31st of that same year. The membership will elect officers and chairs for the next bi-annual term. Newly elected officers and chairs will begin their term in January of the next calendar year. 

  • Conduct annual review of association needs and direction. 

  • Stores election ballots for one year, and then responsible for destroying them. 

  • President and President-Elect will make appointments to fill vacancies of officers or committee chairs. 

  • Assist other officers in preparations for 9-1-1 Public Educators Meeting in conjunction with the Texas Public Safety Conference.

Treasurer - Leticia Truex

Responsibilities: 

  • Receive all general funds and funds (not designated for meeting costs) collected by meeting hosts. 

  • Pay all bills authorized by the President and/or Executive Board. 

  • Submit a digital, written, and oral financial report at each regular meeting.

  • Assist other officers in preparations for 9-1-1 Public Educators Meeting in conjunction with the Texas Public Safety Conference.

Secretary - Sharon Brown

Responsibilities: 

  • Take minutes at regular and board meetings. E-mailing minutes to membership before end of third week after meeting. 

  • Book meeting room at designated venue location(s) at the beginning of each physical year when meeting dates are set with membership. 

  • Working with Website Chair on maintaining the membership list/labels. 

  • Maintain membership labels and provide them to 9-1-1 Public Educators of Texas as needed. 

  • Maintain e-mail list of all members and forward communications from other members as needed.

  • Assist other officers in preparations for 9-1-1 Public Educators Meeting in conjunction with the Texas Public Safety Conference.

  • ENSURING THAT THE MEETING AREA HAS BEEN CLEARED IN THE MANNER THAT IS ACCEPTABLE TO THE OWNERS OF MEETING FACILITY.
